Kennedy, and A Citizen's Dissent, his 1968 "reply" to the news media and other defenders of the Warren Report. Plausible Denial, his most recent book and a best-seller in 1992, focused on the trial of Watergate conspirator E. A longtime civil rights activist and attorney, Lane successfully represented the American Indian Movement at the historic Wounded Knee trial, tried numerous cases establishing the rights of minorities to serve on juries and utilize public facilities, and argued a case before the U.S. Supreme Court that helped to establish the law of defamation. A former New York state legislator, Lane was also one of then-Senator John F. Kennedy’s campaign managers for New York City. Back to Faculty |
