Gary T. Cornwell Esq.

Gary T. Cornwell, Esq., a civil and criminal trial attorney based in Beaumont, TX, served as deputy chief counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Select Committee on Assassinations in charge of the John F. Kennedy assassination from 1977 to 1979. Prior to accepting that position, he served for several years as a trial attorney in the Organized Crime and Racketeering Section of the Criminal Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, in both Washington, D.C. and Kansas City. From 1976 to 1977, Mr. Cornwell was attorney-in-charge of the Kansas City Field Office. When the HSCA concluded its work in 1979, he became assistant regional counsel in charge of special investigations for the U.S. Department of Energy in Denver. Mr. Cornwell is the author of the 1998 book, Real Answers, which details his work for the HSCA. A graduate of Duke University and the University of Texas Law School, he is a member of the State Bar of Texas and of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
