Michael M. Baden, M.D.

Michael M. Baden, M.D. is a board-certified forensic pathologist who served as chairman of the forensic pathology panel of the House Select Committee on Assassinations from 1977 to 1979. Over the course of his 40-year career,Dr. Baden has been involved as an expert in cases of international renown, including the examination of the remains of Czar Nicholas and his family, the death of John Belushi, the second autopsy of civil rights leader Medgar Evers, and the autopsies of the victims of TWA Flight 800. He has served as an expert witness in many criminal cases, including the murder trials of O.J. Simpson, Claus Von Bulow and Christian Brando. For 25 years, Dr. Baden worked in the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of New York City, two of them as chief medical examiner. Currently co-director of the New York State Police Medicolegal Investigation Unit, Dr. Baden is the author of Unnatural Death: Confessions of a Medical Examiner and Dead Reckoning: The New Science of Catching Killers, and the host of the popular HBO show, Autopsy.
